An Introduction to Laravel with Pete Gallagher of PJG Creations – 04/09/2018

Tuesday 4th September from 6.30pm - Uni Days, Nottingham

What's it about?

This workshop will take you through the steps to get a simple CRUD application setup in the PHP Framework Laravel.

What will we be doing?

Pete Gallagher of PJG Creations will be taking you through the steps to get a simple Line Of Business CRUD Web Site up and running using the PHP Framework Laravel, including using Bootstrap to theme the site and MySQL to store some data.

By the end of the Workshop, you should have a good grounding in Laravel to take away and start building your own websites.

What do we need to bring?

For those of you who prefer a local Web Server, we have WAMP.

You’ll need to make sure you have the following installed on your machine before arriving…

  • Cmder:
    1. Download: http://cmder.net/
    2. Copy to “c:\Program Files(x86)\”
    3. Add Cmder to Path
      1. Open Environment Variables
      2. Edit Path Item
      3. Click browse
      4. Navigate to c:\Program Files(x86)\[Cmder directory]
      5. Click ok to all dialogs

For those of you who prefer a a Cross Platform Option, we have Vagrant and Virtual Box

You’ll need to make sure you have the following installed on your machine before arriving…

Pete is Organiser of Notts IoT, Co-Organiser of Notts Dev Workshop and the owner of PJG Creations – A Software and IT consultancy based in Loughborough. Pete has experience of .net Desktop, Web Development in ASP, PHP and Javascript and even dabbles in a little Assembly Language from time to time!
